GRANT OPPORTUNITY! Join the WV Partners in Prevention Network
Prevent Child Abuse West Virginia announces the opportunity for organizations working to build protective factors that prevent child abuse and neglect to apply to participate in the Partners In Prevention Network.
Prevent Child Abuse West Virginia, a program of TEAM for WV Children, is inviting community teams to apply to participate in its Partners In Prevention initiative. Partners in Prevention (PIP) is a statewide network of 41 community teams implementing various local projects and working together to build strong families that help children thrive. Funding is now available to expand the PIP Network in FY23-24.
Only counties that do not currently have a Partners in Prevention team are eligible to apply. Those counties are Barbour, Boone, Cabell, Calhoun, Clay, Doddridge, Hancock, Jackson, Jefferson, Kanawha, Lewis, Mason, Preston, Roane, Tyler, Wayne, Wirt.
The PIP grant program requires a team of at least three local organizations and the involvement of parents/caregivers working together in a community to mitigate the risk of child abuse and neglect.
Once selected into the Partners in Prevention Network, participating teams receive annual grants of $7,500 to conduct local projects that focus on the well-being of West Virginia’s children, their parents and caregivers, and the engagement of the community in improving the lives of children and families. Additional information, including a map of current teams and project descriptions for Partners in Prevention teams, is available at https://teamwv.org/prevent-child-abuse-wv/partners-in-prevention/.
