OVERVIEW: We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Development Director to join our staff at TEAM for West Virginia Children. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing our mission by spearheading fundraising efforts and enhancing our development initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for our cause, a proven track record in fundraising, and the ability to cultivate relationships with existing and prospective donors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Communications) or Master’s degree preferred; or equivalent life experience.
  • Six years of experience in fundraising, public relations and/or grant-writing, with a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing fundraising strategies.
  • Experience in grant-writing and proposal development, with a successful record of securing grants from various sources preferred.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Commitment to ethical fundraising practices and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team & engage with existing & prospective donors.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively articulate the organization’s mission and funding needs.

 

DUTIES:

  • Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan to meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate success of fundraising activities on an ongoing basis and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Promote the TEAM’s mission and programs to enhance donor engagement and support.
  • Create and oversee the development of promotional materials to effectively communicate our impact and fundraising needs.
  • Manage all aspects of development activities, including cultivating relationships with individual donors, corporate donors, foundations, and religious communities.
  • Coordinate fundraising events alongside the Executive Director and the Board to ensure seamless execution and maximize donor participation and contributions.
  • Collaborate with Executive Director to identify & pursue funding opportunities from public/private sources.
  • Prepare and submit limited grant proposals alongside TEAM staff and director, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and deadlines.

SALARY RANGE: $50,000 to $60,000 plus good benefits
